Ben Harper and Laura Dern, who had been together about 10 years, have recently parted ways.
Singer-songwriter Harper filed for divorce from his actress wife on October 8, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to the celebrity news source TMZ.
According to the papers, the pair separated in January. Harper is asking the judge not to award Dern spousal support as a result of the divorce. The couple, who married in 2005, has two children together, Ellery, 9, and Jaya, 5. Harper is seeking joint custody of their children.
Dern won a Golden Globe for her 2008 role in “Recount.” Harper is a two-time Grammy Award winner.
