After 17 years of marriage and a kidney transplant, Ann Lopez has filed for divorce from actor/comedian husband George Lopez.
Ann filed the papers on Nov. 23; the couple officially separated in September, but did not file any papers until now.
The couple will remain dedicated parents to 14-year-old daughter, Mayan, but Ann is seeking primary custody.
According to People, Ann donated her kidney to her husband back in 2005. George had deteriorating kidneys due to a genetics condition, no further details were revealed about the condition. He reportedly said about his wife, “I can’t pay her back, but what I can do is make her as happy as she thought I would when we first got married.”
There was no prenuptial agreement signed.
